Milady Murillo, MSW
NJPIRC Program Director
Milady Murillo initially joined Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey in 2002 and served as a Family Worker Coordinator in the Family Outreach Program for 3.5 years. After spending a year in Colombia, she returns to PCA-NJ as a Program Coordinator for the NJ Parent Information Resource Center (PIRC). Milady holds a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University and a M.S. in Social Work with a minor in International Welfare from Columbia University. Milady’s passion for traveling have lead her to study abroad in Mexico, travel to the UK as a Winant Volunteer and travel with students to Australia and France.

Colleen Deisroth, BS
NJPIRC Program Coordinator
Colleen Deisroth joined Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey in August of 2005 and has worked for four programs throughout PCA-NJ including PETA, Healthy Families, TIP, and most recently in April 2007, NJPIRC as the Media and Outreach Specialist. Some of Colleen’s responsibilities include promoting the NJPIRC program through the development of the NJPIRC website, as well as provide training in the EPIC Parenting Workshop Series . Colleen works for Prevent Child Abuse - NJ because she believes that ongoing education is the key to strengthening happy and healthy families. Colleen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education Social Studies from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, Colleen enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and cooking.

Brian Rawls, MPA
NJPIRC Program Coordinator
Brian Rawls joined Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey in January of 2007 as the Regional Coordinator for New Jersey Parent Information and Resource Center - NJPIRC. A few of Brian’s responsibilities include: providing training and education about the No Child Left Behind Act to individuals, organizations and programs; technical assistance to school districts, early care and education programs and/or community groups. Brian has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Nyack College and was selected as a National Urban/Rural Fellow and received his Masters of Public Administration from Bernard Baruch College (CUNY). In his free time, Brian enjoys reading, songwriting, singing and spending time with his wife and three children.

Carl Shaw, M. Ed.
NJPIRC Program Coordinator
Carl Shaw joined Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey in October of 2007 as a Program Coordinator for the New Jersey Parent Information and Resource Center (NJPIRC). Carl assists in NJPIRC’s mission of strengthening partnerships among families, schools, and community leaders to increase the overall academic and social achievement of children. Carl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Lincoln University and a Masters of Arts in Education Administration. In his free time, Carl enjoys reading, writing and speaking on topics of philosophy, spirituality and history. He also enjoys good music, sports and spending time with family, especially his daughter, Bryahna.
